The Mirror Pavilion, created by artist John Gerrard, is a work of art in Ireland presented at the Galway International Arts Festival 2020. It consists of two installations, “Leaf Work” in Derrigimlagh Bog and “Corn Work” in the lake of Poll na mBrón. Both stainless steel structures reflect their natural environment, integrating landscape and climate. The work addresses ecology and sustainability, inviting reflection on the human impact on nature. Gerrard uses technology to create an immersive experience, merging art and environment into an empowered visual and conceptual statement. The mirror effect is achieved with the “Natural mirror” finish of the aluminium composite panel with which the construction was made.
