From façade to suspended ceiling: the DIBt update
expands STACBOND applications in Germany.
New applications, more systems included and more detailed
calculation criteria. The update to approval
Z-10.3-809 introduces new developments for
STACBOND FR and A2 4 mm panels,
in both flat panel and cassette configurations.
The Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) has approved
the content following acceptance of the technical report
issued by the MPA at the University of Stuttgart.
The documentation has already been submitted for signature,
the step prior to publication of the updated approval.

Applications for suspended ceilings
In addition to ventilated external façades,
the update includes the use of
STACBOND FR
and
STACBOND A2
in suspended ceilings with the STB-REM,
STB-T-REM, STB-SZ and STB-T-SZ systems,
subject to the conditions set out in the document.
More assembly solutions
The STB-T-CH-PRO cassette system
is expressly included, together with new S/Z profiles
and starter profiles for the
STB-SZ and STB-T-SZ systems.
More detail for wind-load calculations
Specific design resistance tables are included
for both flat panel and cassette systems,
together with clarification of the accepted
calculation methods for their dimensioning.
Options for the substructure
The use of aluminium profiles with at least
equivalent structural values is permitted,
provided that they meet the specified requirements
for moment of inertia, thickness and alloy.
The document also includes the reaction-to-fire
classifications B-s1,d0 for STACBOND FR
and A2-s1,d0 for STACBOND A2,
in accordance with the conditions of the approval.
